FAQ
Questions parents ask
Short answers about what DayFlo does, what it costs and how your information is handled.
What is DayFlo?
DayFlo reads the email you send it, from school, clubs, teams and activities, and keeps one clear picture of what’s coming up for each child: dates, deadlines, changes and things to bring. You can put the dates on your own calendar and set reminders. Each evening it sends a short note, and items link back to the email they came from. See how it works.
How does DayFlo know which messages are for my child?
There’s little to set up. You add your children’s names and grades, and you can link each child to a school. As mail comes in, DayFlo lists the schools, teams and classes it finds, and you confirm the ones that are yours.
From then on DayFlo works out which child each item is for from the message itself: a child’s name, the class or team it comes from, the sender, or the grade it mentions. If it isn’t sure whose team it is, it asks. If it can’t tell, the item still shows, without a child on it. If it picks the wrong child, you can change it on the item.
A notice for a grade none of your children are in isn’t hidden. It stays on its day in DayFlo; it just isn’t flagged or put in your evening note.
What does it cost?
DayFlo is free during early access. We will tell you before we ever charge for it.
Which schools and apps work?
Anything that emails you the details — school and district newsletters, teachers, team apps and class portals, or anything else you forward with dates in it.
Do I have to change how the school contacts me?
No. You forward a copy to your private DayFlo address, or set up automatic forwarding once, for example with a Gmail filter. You keep your own copy of every message. You’ll get simple setup steps once you’re in.
Does DayFlo read my whole inbox?
No. DayFlo sees only the messages you send to it. A direct Gmail connection is coming soon. A few early-access families are trying it now — mention it on the waitlist if you’d like to be one of them.
Does it work with my calendar?
Yes, both ways. You can subscribe to your DayFlo calendar in Google Calendar or Apple Calendar; it updates when your calendar app refreshes, usually within a few hours. And if your school or team gives you a calendar link, you can add it to DayFlo so those events show up alongside everything else.
Can my partner use it too?
Yes. The account owner can invite another adult. They see the household’s items and original messages, and get their own notifications.
What if DayFlo gets something wrong?
It sometimes will. Items link back to the email they came from when you want to check, and the message in your own inbox is the one to go by. See the terms of use.
How do I sign in?
Today you sign in with a Google account. Your email can be at any provider. Signing in doesn’t give DayFlo access to your inbox.
Is my information private?
Your messages are used to run DayFlo for your family. We don’t sell them or use them for advertising. An AI service helps find the dates and details, and during early access our team may look at messages to fix mistakes. The privacy policy has the details.
When can I start?
DayFlo is in early access. Join the waitlist and we will be in touch; we let families in by hand, a few at a time.
