About
Why I built DayFlo
A note from Julian
It was spirit week, and every day the kids were supposed to wear something different. We kept missing it. Evenings were already full with bedtime, getting ready for tomorrow and cleaning up, and when I finally went looking for that day’s theme, I couldn’t find it. It was in a picture inside a long school newsletter, and even searching my email came up empty.
That’s when I noticed how much of our week depended on emails nobody had time to read: a test we hadn’t prepared for, a form due, a practice that moved. Every school and team had its own app and its own notifications, and the one detail we needed was always somewhere else.
So I built DayFlo to do one thing: read the school and activity email we already get and show what’s coming up for each kid, with the original message one tap away. It has made our evenings calmer.
DayFlo is early. It will sometimes miss something or get it wrong. Items link back to the email they came from, so you can check what it finds — and the message in your own inbox is always the one to go by. If your week sounds like ours, I’d love for you to try it.
